1 cup water, or more as needed
1 large red potato, peeled and diced
1 clove garlic, sliced
½ onion, finely chopped
1 fresh red chile pepper, seeded and chopped
6 leaves kale, finely chopped, stems included
1 pinch ground nutmeg, or to taste
1 pinch ground cinnamon, or to taste
1 pinch ground allspice, or to taste
salt and ground black pepper to taste
2 slices bacon
2 dried sage leaves, crushed
